Danceworx is a professionally run dance school in Cornwall. The head office is in Newquay but the dance classes are all over Cornwall.
We specialize in Street dance, rock and roll, mtv pop and disco freestyle, and that is because these are the styles our teachers are qualified in. We didn’t start life as a ballet school or a modern school, we have been and always will be true to our roots.
We have kids dance classes for all ages between 2.5 years up to teens. We have a specially designed class for pre-schoolers called Boogie Babies. We also have adult dance classes where you can exercise your body and your mind together.
Danceworx dance lessons in Cornwall are fun and informative. Our philosophy is you learn more when you are enjoying yourself and when you enjoy what you’re learning you begin to love it.
Danceworx has worked hard over the last 6 years to become one of the most respected dance schools in Cornwall. Some of our dancers choose to become part of a performance team and during the summer months can be seen at prestigious events around Cornwall like the Royal Cornwall Show and RNAS Culdrose Air Day.
Not only are we a respected dance school in Cornwall, but we have also had national success by qualifying for national competition finals. Some of our success can be put down to the fact that we teach using traditional values of posture, placement and core stability and then translate that into current styles so you can start to look like a professional dancer yourself and reap the benefits of feeling good about the way you look.
For the majority of people, children and adults, taking dancing lessons is the start of a fun hobby and will never be any more than that, so you need to make sure you’re having a good time and are being taught by someone who cares enough to have qualified properly as a dance teacher.
Most of the routines taught at our dance schools in Cornwall are choreographed by us so they contain intricate moves and our own individual style. We regularly attend congress and professional classes to give us fresh ideas and keep us up to date (there is always a new move out there) and so we are renowned for our innovative choreography and progressive style.
We believe dancing should be enjoyable above everything else. There are lots of other benefits to be gained from dancing, both mental and physical, but it must be fun! This means our classes take place in a friendly supportive learning environment and you become a valued member of our dancing club not just a face in the back of a class.
